Jason Voorhees:

Jason Voorhees was a 10 year old child who drowned in Camp Crystal Lake because of his inability to swim. His mother blamed his death on the camp councellors and thus went on a rampage to exact her revenge. Until the "final girl" Alice decapitated her on the camp grounds. After the first movie, 20 or so years later, Jason exacts his revenge for his mothers death every time camp councellors go on vacation at Camp Blood.

Chucky:

Chucky was originally a human named Charles Lee Ray. He was on the run from the cops, since he was a criminal and we was chased into a toy store. The police officer shot him. Ray needed medical attention or else he would have bled out. Letting the officer take him to the hospital would mean he'd be going to jail afterwards so he used voodoo magic to transfer his soul into a Good Guy doll to let him continue living. A peddler sells that doll to a woman named karen Barclay for her son Andy Barclay. He reveals who he really is to Andy and the only way to transfer his soul back into a humans body is to transfer it into the first human who he revealed his identity to, Andy. He tries and fails, inevitably gets killed. Or so you think, horror movies never kill off the antagonist.

Leatherface:

Leatherface has multiple movies with the same premise; man lives in a remote area and slaughters anyone who wanders on his farm. The character, Leatherface, is based off of a real person. His name was Ed Gein, a seriel killer and most of his victims were women. He turned their skin into leather and wore it. Most of his victims he turned their skin into leather for lampshades, couch covers and turned their skulls into bowls or ashtrays. Movies based off of his murders include the entire Leatherface series, Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal.

Micheal Myers:

This killer started off as a ten year old who killed his older sister in cold blood. In the second movie you find out he has another sister played by Jamie Lee Curtis. She didn't know they were related until half way through the movie. Later on, they negate all of the lore in the first 3 movies and makes it so Micheal was cursed as a baby by a cult which is why he became a murderer. Next year a new Halloween movie is coming out. It's just called Halloween but its not a remake of the first movie. It's a sequel to the third movie but negates all of the other movies. So, it's to fix the mistakes of the other movies by making them irrelevant.

Freddy Krueger:

Freddy is the killer of Nightmare on Elm Street. He was a child molester while he worked at a school as a teacher. When the parents of the neighborhood found out he was a total creep, they torched his house burning him alive. The weapon he uses is knives at the end of each finger on a glove which practically evolves through the series. Even though they torched him alive and he went to hell for his sins, his soul remained. Krueger feeds off the fear and nightmares of others. He tries to scare the characters in their sleep until he's strong enough to come back into the real world to kill the people who put him in hell. He can manage to kill you in your sleep as well which is usually how he kills his victims. In their dreams they die in a weird, obscure, illogical way but what others see in reality is something more logical. In the first movie he kills a women by literally sucking the air out of her in her dream, but everyone around her sees her having an asthma attack.
